A Rare Red Flag By Apple?
Apple is going to release its new iPhone 14 colorway, they have chosen yellow as their successor however, unlike last year the new color variant won’t be available for the pro models and will only ship with the base iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 plus. The new colorway of the device is said to add a nice pop of color and adds to the collection of series in colors which are black, blue, red, purple, and white.
Apple users see this news as both, good and bad. They see it as good news as apple has added another color in their series of colors, and the fact that there is an iPhone 14 in yellow color is alone a big step by apple. The bad news is that it will probably be seen as a surrender flag on the idea of Apple’s spring event in the year 2023.
This has been suspected for a while and Apple originally planned to focus on its AR headset in this year’s spring event, but the round of rumored delays means now it’s most likely that it won’t be happening. In the absence of the headliner, there will always be a strong probability that the apple will pull off the entire event.
The launch of this color has taken and elevated the no-event theory, from a strong possibility to a near certainty. The last two spring events have seen similar announcements such as the alpine green iPhone 13 being announced in the peak performance event by apple in March 2022, while the purple iPhone 12 was unveiled in the spring-loaded event of 2021.
So if apple still planned to hold an event in spring 2023 it would surely wait for the grand reveal of the new iPhone 14 color set, or to rephrase what we said, it would be necessary for them to wait until they had the world’s attention at the event to better market their new product, so the only two possible reasons for them to launch it now would be to call off the event or to trick the pundits into thinking that it won’t be happening which is the most likely thing to happen and isn’t an impossibility given that apple is fond of discrediting leakers but is unlikely.
The events also don’t happen every year, as there were spring events in 2018 and 2019 but there wasn’t an event in 2017. We get habitual and used to something’s that keep on happening with consistency but when we look into this, it isn’t consistent at all, sure there was one last year and the year before but there was no event in 2020.
This tells us that it isn’t set in stone that apple has to announce an event every year and even if we don’t see it from a logistic angle, holding an event when you don’t have anything to unveil that will set the market to buy your product, or at least there is nothing earth shattering that they would unveil to their users and customers.
Saying this, Apple is also said to have quite interesting, or a wild card to be precise up their sleeve, and this could arrive as early as April. The spring’s surprise, if you can use that term for a product that’s been leaked as widely as this. This is actually the arrival of the 15-inch MacBook air and with this MacBook Air, will be coming to the M3 chip earlier than expected. It was expected for it to arrive in late 2023 or early 2023 but could feasibly appear in April.
So just by the arrival of the yellow iPhone, we can see that there is a possibility that Apple will completely call off the spring event, perhaps the probability that there won’t be a spring event means that the arrival of the MacBook Air will also be delayed, or maybe it’s just a larger plan by apple and they have taken the decision of messing with us a bit.
