Today we have selected Alekh Verma to take his interview. He is the CEO and Founder of eSearch Logix Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
First of all, how are you and your team doing in these COVID-19 times?
Though this pandemic brought a complete turnaround for businesses, we kept ourselves up-to-date from the beginning and did prepare for such a condition so that we would not be able to face much of a hassle in adapting to the change.
We moved to Work-From-Home a few days before the Govt. announced the lockdown. Creating a seamless technical process and adopting remote work efficiency incorporating tools like Monday.com, Microsoft Teams (communication), Zoho CRM, Basecamp, we were able to keep the work process streamlined and channels open throughout between the staff and with the clients.
Our team adapted to the remote process well and fast and didn’t let that hurt the productivity in any way. On the health front, I am glad that they were cautious and we didn’t have to hear any serious concerns from anyone.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded or joined this company?
Qualification-wise, I am a graduate. Post that I started working in the IT industry. While I was moving the ladder up in my job, within 4 years of my professional life I felt the urge to try out something more and take risks and that’s when I left the job and started working individually.
Gradually a vision of starting my own enterprise was borne and I planted the seeds of eSearch Logix in 2014, and that too single-handedly.
We are into providing complete digital transformation services since then including web, mobile, and other verticals of the digital domain.
How does your company innovate?
The definition of innovation can vary, and it can scale and expand widely. What we have integrated on the line of innovation is about crafting strategic thinking and inventiveness, adopt an approach that brings the best in how we do what we do, and involve workforce evolution as the backbone for delivering results that matter.
We know our clients and we know what they expect us to do, and working on thinking about the end result with a cohesive tactic is the key to our implementation.
We are creative not only about how we deliver our services, but how our team members feel about and take on the challenge, adopt learning, and are resourceful enough to process through.
Here, in this company, we do not have employees, but team members. We are all contributing to the vision we have, and each one of us is equally valuable. We believe and work as a strongly bonded team that supports each other through thick and thin.
How the Coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Just like other businesses and industries, we too were affected, especially in the initial period. But as I have mentioned above, it was all about how we predicted the coming changes and challenges and adapted to them. For many, remote working was kind of new and an uphill task, but for us, it was something that we were able to transition into smoothly.
Although we opened our workplace facility about over 2 months ago, we are adopting all the hygiene measures so that we keep our team members safe from risks. Time and again, we have incorporated measures and channeled out initiates to motivate the team to cope with the challenges by providing them with full support and work flexibility.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Right from the start of my professional journey, making some hard decisions has formed the base for me to reach here today. One of the most difficult choices was starting my own company, letting go of a comfortable job, and that too single-handedly.
On the way, I have learned various lessons, on the professional and personal front, that have helped me grow as a mature person, and make some key decisions for the benefit of my business and team.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
For different functions and reasons we have been using different tools and programs, inclusive of Monday.com, Zoho for HR management, Microsoft Teams, and other cloud applications for project process, Hubspot, and more like Github. We have been in this industry for a long, and know-how valuable to the cloud interface is, and especially during this pandemic time and usage and implementation of these tools proved to be a real backbone for us.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
As we are a complete digital transformation service provider, other businesses in the same domain and inclusive realms can be considered as our competitors. We value our competitors, and I believe that for the healthy growth of the industry, us, and for true service value to our clients, a thriving competition environment is pretty much needed.
Your Final Thoughts
I would say that even we are over 6 years old in the industry as an enterprise, we are still young, learning, and growing. For me, it is the start of the journey and one that we, as a team, have the vision to tread with hard work, evolution, and adapting to the future requirements of the marketplace.
We are looking to see ourselves not just as a growing business in the future, but as a unit that sets a benchmark, delivers on value and promise, and creates a healthy, dynamic, and evolving environment for the team members.
