Meet Alessandro Fard – Founder and CEO Of Create Ape

First of all, how are you and your team doing in these COVID-19 times?

We are doing pretty well during these unprecedented times. Fortunately, Digital solution needs especially around user experience design have increased dramatically due to the overwhelming majority of companies scrambling to establish or improve their current digital solution.

Additionally, we have always been set up as a mostly virtual company so the pivot during these times has not been negative at all.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded or joined this company?

I’ve been a user experience designer for over 21 years and have worked with a lot of big companies such as Lynda, Xanga, Facebook, Yahoo, etc. One of the companies I worked for had a great IPO (true car) and I was able to leverage that to found Create Ape.

How does your company innovate?

Innovation at our company is very organic. We’re constantly looking at upcoming trends to stay ahead of the technological demands that companies face from both the evolution of the Internet and current events.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

The only difficult choices we’ve had to make during this pandemic is how fast we grow sense as I mentioned before there has been a tremendous amount of demand for our services.

What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?

Since we’ve already been set up for a virtual solution, we continue to use the tools that we’ve been using in the past. Toggle for time tracking, click up for Project Management, zoom for meetings, G suite for almost everything else. We also use Figma for our design tool.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Our competitors are pretty much any other digital agency out there and we honestly don’t really focus on trying to stay ahead of them. We focus on the value we bring to our clients and their success. We have found that if our clients are successful we will be successful and we let the rest handle itself.

Your Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, the reason we’ve grown so much is that we do not pay lip service to the idea that “we are here for a client”. We truly embrace this and believe in it. At Create Ape we value transparency, being set up for success, and accountability. We also are very agile as such we are able to quickly adapt to both our client needs and volatility in the digital market.
