First of all, how are you and your team doing in these COVID-19 times?
We are doing well. Life is different, and we cannot enjoy the same pleasures as before Covid-19, but we are trying to live life to the fullest and minimize the risks. Our business model works well using all online channels of communication, and ironically enough, we have created ChatHQ specifically because of the changing workplace environment so
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded or joined this company?
I am a digital marketer by trade. I started self-taught performing SEO and website design almost 12 years ago. I have been performing lead generation through paid advertising, SEO, and Google My Business optimization for the last five years now. My co-founder and COO, Sergio Leon, is a software engineer. He has worked in corporate America for software companies and is now self-employed. He has an amazing story as he came from Cuba to America 5 years ago and is earning his citizenship. His road to success was hard and unbelievable at times, but he is incredibly smart and dedicated to his craft, allowing him to succeed where others have failed. We met by chance. I had an idea for a communication integration to a popular software platform, and it turned out that he had the same idea. We were both in the same Facebook group and decided to speak over a Zoom call. We decided to partner up, and the rest is history!
How does your company innovate?
Our company, ChatHQ, has innovated the way that companies communicate daily. We provide a white label-able communication platform that allows businesses to OWN their data, not just rent it from the big tech companies. ChatHQ combines multiple different software into one communication platform so that companies can coordinate and collaborate with their teams daily, chat with their customers regarding projects and support, generate new leads with omnichannel live chat, and even build custom webhooks right inside of ChatHQ to bring an unlimited amount of data into the platform and send data out to their CRM’s or other software. We work primarily with marketing agencies, but we can help any industry streamline and optimize its communications.
How the Coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you Coping?
The pandemic has not negatively affected our business. Quite the opposite. Because of the transition from mostly in-office work-life to now mostly at-home work life, the need for optimized and organized communication between business teams and even customers is more important than ever. ChatHQ gives businesses the tools to succeed in this new remote working environment.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Not really. The only difficult decisions were whether to go out in public to take advantage of business opportunities or not. We chose not to until we were fully vaccinated, and even then, we were very cautious. Our entire business operation, like the businesses we help, revolves around remote and online work.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
Our software, ChatHQ! It provides every tool we need to operate remotely and organize our teams. We support voice and video messages for quick and easy ways to chat when you do not want to type or cannot type fast, which has helped during this crisis. We also use ClickUp, Go High Level, and many other software platforms for different business processes.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Our main competitor is Slack. They have a strong grip on the small business market since they offer a freemium plan, and ChatHQ does not. To stay in the game, we provide as much value as possible and flat-rate pricing. By bundling multiple software solutions into one platform, ChatHQ allows businesses to cut costs by consolidating. We also give companies the ability to white label their ChatHQ and resell it to their customers, making ChatHQ a source of monthly recurring revenue for businesses, providing more value than companies like Slack could ever offer.
