Today we have selected Daniel Parsons To to take his Interview. He is the Co-Founder & CEO Of TBS Marketing.
First of all, how are you and your team doing in these COVID-19 times?
We are doing great overall, thanks. Life is always throwing challenges at us and this is no different. I think during these times it is important to stay grounded, focus on the positives, and tune out the noise from outside. I personally have been spending a lot of time in Bangkok’s Spa chilling out and flexing my puppies.
Tell us about your career and how you founded or joined this company?
Now, this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down and I’d like to take a minute, just sit right there. I’ll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bangkok. In West Southfields born and raised on the playground is, where I spent most of my days chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool and all shooting some b-ball outside of the school, when a couple of guys who were up to no good started making trouble in my neighborhood, I got in one little fight. My mom got scared and said: “You’re moving with your auntie and uncle in Bangkok.”
Once here, I started making some moves that I learned back in my SMD days and we soon had Bangkok’s leading Digital Agency up and running and have not looked back since.
How does your company innovate?
I regularly partake in shamanic Ayahuasca ceremonies to get guidance from a higher consciousness on navigating the choppy seas of business and life. Apart from that, just a lot of trial and error. Failure is part of success, and the bigger the failure, the greater the lesson!
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Unfortunately, the lockdowns have had a devastating effect on many businesses, such as most of those in the hospitality and travel sector. We had many clients who were badly affected and, in an attempt to stay afloat, had to cut their marketing budgets which meant pausing or pulling back on the marketing campaigns that we were managing. On the flip side, we had many clients (such as those in the online retail space) who began to thrive more so than ever. Over 2020 and the beginning of 2021, we were able to pivot the business to cater more to this clientele, and I am glad to say we are now enjoying a period of stable growth.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
We are always making difficult choices in some form, so this year was no different in that respect …they were just ‘different difficult choices.’ One of the lessons learned is that The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work… when you go to church… when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill – the story ends, and you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
We utilized Jibble (a cloud application designed to enable users to track time and attendance for their team effectively) when we had to work remotely, which was quite handy temporarily.
We also began using video conferencing tools (like Zoom) to stay connected and communicate effectively if we could not all be in the same physical location.
Apart from that, turning off the news, disconnecting from all Social media, and instead turning inwards have helped a lot.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Our main competitor is SEO Thailand (https://seothailand.co.th/ ). We plan to stay in the game by boxing, clever and eating, drinking, and sleeping, Online Marketing, and SEO.
Your Final Thoughts
Be true to yourself and do not conform just because everyone else is drinking the cooled….a lion never loses sleep over the opinions of sheep. FREEEEEEEEDOM!!!
