First of all, how are you and your team doing in these COVID-19 times?
COVID-19 lockdown was stress as for our company as for all the companies around the world. We didn’t know what to do and how it will be in the nearest feature. We had to solve two urgent issues:
- How to organize teamwork?
- How not lose our clients?
So, we started work from home and saved all the bonuses and benefits for each team member. Cause each business is not just about money; it’s about people. We lost some clients at the beginning of pandemia: restaurants and nightclubs were closed, so they didn’t receive any income. Our big client – Cinema network with five cinema-theaters was also closed, but we continued our work with them without payment. Now they pay us the invoices which we sent during the year.
But it was a good time online. Our clients in e-commerce started to receive more sales because people still need to purchase things and food. Also, we started to receive new clients who worked offline before, and now they come online. In general, we grow up x2 in a team and clients during this year. We continue to work in a modified way: part of our team work from home, another part works from the office (if they want). Also, we started to hire people from different cities and countries.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded or joined this company?
I started my way as PPC manager in the internal marketing department on Namecheap. Later, my friend and I decided to start an advertising agency to work with different clients. For me, as for technical specialists, it was interesting to try something new. My main condition was that “we have to work with long-term projects. So now we are 8yrs old and have over 50 teammates. The average customer lifetime is 3-4 yrs with us, but we have some clients who have worked with us from the beginning (8yrs at the moment), and we are both growing together. How does your company innovate?
We always try to find a better way for each project. Each client is different, even if it’s the same product category. We prepare individual offers and try to use only the most profitable methods.
How the Coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
We grew up x2. So it was a good push for us.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
The hardest thing was to start work from home because all the people worked from the office. Now 90% of the team prefer to work from home or another place (or country).
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
We started to work more with content and monitor more news. From tools: Buzzsumo is good.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Our competitors are all the companies around the world who work in advertising and marketing. We collaborate with some of them. Competitors are mostly local because we need to hire often the same people.
