Tell us about your product

NWICODE – the project is a Service for quickly creating and managing mobile applications for IOS and Android platforms without programming skills using ready-made functionality.
Our mission is to democratize app development by enabling everyone to create digital products that meet their needs.
Help small and medium-sized businesses reduce the time and minimize the cost of creating a mobile app for their company in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

First of all, how are you and your team doing in these COVID-19 times?

Since its inception, our team had worked remotely except when we all got together in some cozy restaurant to have lunch together and discuss our plans. Therefore, with the advent of the pandemic, our organizational process has not changed in any way, and we continue to work.
But still, the changes affected me personally and some of our employees who followed my example. Previously, we all traveled often, especially in the summer, but with the arrival of the pandemic, many restrictions related to tourist travel appeared. I decided and left the city for a small village, where I enjoy pure nature, lead a healthy lifestyle, combine my vacation with work.

Tell us about you, your career, how you founded or joined this company?

Before founding the company and launching our product, Nwicode, I was in a completely different business; I had two small pizzerias at that time. We already had our own website and successfully accepted delivery orders. The competition was growing, and we needed new marketing strategies; promotions and coupons had already oversaturated the market, we needed a new solution that the competitors did not have. Then I had the idea to create a mobile application; not having enough money in my pocket to hire freelancers, I tried to implement my project on different mobile application builders. To my regret, there was always something missing in terms of functionality.
I then met a good programmer and now my partner and co-founder, Semion Matyash, who helped me develop and launch a mobile application. Here I had the idea to create a cloud version of the platform and allow those who lack the functionality to hire specialists and develop their own functions, adding them to our application designer.
As a non-technical founder, I know what it means to be unable to bring my technical idea to life. Under the guidance of a non-technical founder who has been through what our customers have been through, no one knows the problems better than us. No one will offer an easier solution.
Now, our main goal is to help small and medium-sized businesses save tens of thousands of dollars and from three to six months of waiting when developing a mobile application for their company.
I easily combine my business with my favorite business. I am a lover of proper nutrition and healthy food. I have always dreamed of having my own apiary and watching how hard bee colonies work. I enjoy spending my time in the apiary and take an example from these small but very hardworking insects.

How does your company innovate?

At the moment, we offer a cloud version (Saas), a service for the development of mobile applications ” No-Code.” We offer a service for various categories of business, from e-commerce to the service industry. We are always looking for in-demand and sophisticated features and technologies to turn them into easier and cheaper creations with our service.

How the Coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?

As far as our business is concerned, we are in luck; the pandemic positively impacted us. As a result, many companies were forced to urgently change the game rules, introduce new technologies, and invest in tools such as ours.
To make our impact on the fast Internet access of small businesses even more significant, we introduced the White Label platform, which allows you to sell Nwicode projects under your own brand. Also, we provided an opportunity for freelancers and web agencies to open a new monetization channel and generate additional profit by selling created applications in our marketplace. I would not hesitate to call this the creation of additional jobs.

Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?

In the spring of 2020, we were forced to abandon our planned roadmap and growth strategy. We had to abandon some of the implementations and integrations with third-party services, which we had already promised to our users, in favor of more demanded solutions at that time.
Fortunately for our customers and us, this was the right choice and did not incur any additional costs and downtime.

What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?

Using tools like Zoom and Skype has always been our reality, as all of our employees work from home or in another city. Our main and main tool in software development remains Github.

Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?

Our main competitors are following the new successful startup Adalo and AppyPei, which has long been one of the leaders in our market. In May 2021, Adalo’s company closed Round A with an investment of $ 8 million with such investors as Jason Warner CTO GitHub, Wade Foster Co-founder & CEO Zapier Shlomo Dalesman CTO / Co-Founder Intello.
We are even more convinced of the correctness of our direction when choosing a product that we develop ourselves, which will be really demanded not only for business but also for ordinary users who dream of implementing their idea through a mobile application.
We found our zest and are now ready to attract even more designers and freelancers, all those who like to create applications without code; we will provide them with a unique opportunity – to sell the created applications through our marketplace, receiving additional money and profit.
