Microsoft Announces Windows 7, 8.1 To Fully End:
Microsoft has officially announced some bad news for windows 7 and windows 8.1 users, they have given the users of windows 7, and windows 8.1 a deadline to update their version of windows to windows 11, and the deadline is as close as January 10, 2023, which means that users will have to update their version of windows as soon as possible because the deadline is rather close, otherwise your version of windows will no longer receive security support from Microsoft as per their official announcement.
However, this news is important for Microsoft Windows users, who paid for an extended security program which was the official project of Microsoft for the users who wanted to extend their security program by three years, otherwise, they would’ve stopped receiving security updates just like the other users, three years ago, back in 2020.
Microsoft officially stopped sending security updates for both operating systems, back in 2020, and ever since then the company has been explaining to their users the importance of updating their version of windows to the latest version available, and now they have officially ended their program which basically allowed the users of 2020 to extend their time limit of receiving security updates up till the next three years.
Moreover, Microsoft’s deadline for windows 7 and 8.1 users falls in line with the release of Microsoft edge 109, which will be the last version of Microsoft Edge to support windows 7 and windows 8.1. It’s not that the browser will stop working after this, the browser will still work just fine, but it will be vulnerable to more bugs and security issues. In accordance with Edge, google chrome has also announced its end of support for computers running on these operating systems, so the PCs running on these Operating Systems will really have to update their version of windows to the latest version available, or rather they will need to update their PC as a whole, the reason being the minimum system requirements for the latest version of windows available right now, which is windows 11.
Microsoft has also announced that they will not be offering an Extended Security Usage program for the users of Windows 8.1 and that further using windows 8.1, that is after the deadline ends, may increase exposure to security risks and may impact an organization’s ability to meet compliance obligations, and this is also one of the many announcements for the millions of Microsoft users to update their version of windows to the latest version, and as it has already been stated above, Microsoft is currently selling their current version of windows as windows 11, and it has now become a basic necessity for users of both operating systems to update their windows, or rather their PCs.
Microsoft’s Windows 11 requires processors newer than intel 8th Gen or newer to function and these chips including TPM modules are the basic requirements of windows 11 to run, which is why many users will need to update their PCs, therefore windows 11 won’t run on older personal computers.
