Motorola’s Upcoming Razr Phone Is Said To Have Significantly Low Battery Life
The flip phones have been heating the competition for a long time now and especially ever since Oppo Find N2 flip joined the fray. Samsung, Oppo, Huawei, and many other android companies are now expected to go even further beyond this year, but Motorola may go one step back while trying to go two steps forward.
Motorola has been a long-standing player in the game, and has been in this industry for a long time now and has decided to launch a new product this year, this device will be foldable.
Previously it was believed that the product would follow Motorola’s usual naming convention and be called Razr 2023.
However, a new rumor suggests that the product will actually be named Motorola Razr+ 2023. The reason that the “+” symbol was added in the device’s name is rather unclear, but it’s been speculated that it’s because of the largest outer screen ever fitted to a flip-styled foldable device and it has been specifically stated on the website that the device will launch as Motorola Razr+ 2023 which means that there is a slim to no chance that Motorola decides to change the name after deciding it once.
This being said, you shouldn’t just make up your mind that this device will be top-notch and you won’t feel any drawbacks with this mobile phone, the truth is that the phone may be sacrificing some elements while improving others, this means that the device will strictly be sold based on personal opinion, while, the battery capacity of Razr 2022 was not particularly impressive, (3500mAh).
It appears that the Razr+ 2023’s battery has been reported to be even worse than their last model, it has been reported to be a 2850 mAh cell.
This pales in comparison to the 3700 mAh battery of the Galaxy Z Flip 4, not even mention the 4300 mAh battery of the Oppo Find N2 Flip. This being said, the information could always be a false alarm, as it’s not been proved yet by Motorola itself, it has reached the internet as a report.
It’s also possible that the 2,850 mAh capacity may only refer to one of the two halves of the phone, it’s possible that the battery is double the amount that has been mentioned above but this possibility is unlikely, we are assuming this theory that the phone comes with two cells housed in the halves of the phone and the battery rating that just leaked states the capacity of one of two.
In other words, 2850 mAh might not be the total battery of this device. Even though this might be a fact we recommend taking this information with a grain of salt until more details about the device, including this one, are confirmed.
This also doesn’t necessarily mean that Motorola tends to use two batteries of the same size and that they will be proving their users with 5700mAh of total battery in the device, Motorola tends to use a smaller second battery in their foldable, which means that you still won’t be getting a big battery capacity in total even if they use two batteries in their device instead of one, the secondary battery in the Razr 2022 has been rated as 660mAh however its typical capacity is of 712mAh.
There is no word on a launch date yet, but the device is expected to have an XT2321 model number including a 30W fast charging feature on top of its battery, which means that even if the battery is small, which is highly possible, you can expect the device to charge up quickly.
With the leaks of this device coming out left and right, it is evident that the flip device might be unveiled rather soon, however, this recent leak (which is not confirmed yet) brings bad news for people who are looking forward to purchasing this device and hoping to get one of the best foldable in the game right now.
Assuming that Motorola follows its approach with the previous Razr foldable, then Razr+ (2023) is likely to feature a nominally higher combined battery capacity than its predecessor that may close in on the 3700mAh delivered by the Galaxy Z Flip 4. meanwhile, based on overall early rumors, Motorola will announce the Razr+ 2023 in June.
