First of all, how are you and your team doing in these COVID-19 times?
Pretty great – we built a remote team before Covid-19 times. So when everyone was figuring out how to work remotely, it was not a problem for us.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded or joined this company?
I’ve built the company while traveling south-east Asia with my girlfriend after few years working for a French startup. Back then I was doing SEO and PPC and couldn’t help but notice how terrible some agencies were doing, either in terms of client’s deliveries or pricing, which were away too expensive for the quality of work some did. After a friend came to me asking about my opinion on an invoice from an agency, I told him to refuse it and I’ll do it for him. My friend was happy with my results and recommended me to other businesses. Word of mouth did the job and got contacted by other CEOs. Decided it was time for me to create my own company and here I am.
How does your company innovate?
We do not have a technical innovation. We try to innovate by bringing full transparency to our work and pricing system.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business and how are you coping?
We are specialized in the travel & leisure niche. Needless to say, it was a great year for this industry (haha..). Most of our clients stopped their marketing campaign and we found ourselves negotiating a budget for the ones that didn’t leave. Fortunately, our existing clients still recommended us to their network and we landed some nice referrals.
Did you have to make difficult choices and what are the lessons learned?
We had to see some of our clients leaving us despite having built fantastic relationships with them. It was pretty tough. We know we will work together in the near future when COVID will no longer be an issue. However, we learned at this time to not let ourselves down and rebound as soon as possible.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis?
To navigate this crisis we try to be as close as possible with our clients. Hence we now are using WhatsApp to communicate on a daily if not weekly basis with all of our clients, keeping them up-to-date. We also built a fantastic dashboard on Notion to give them full transparency on our work.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
Our competitors are any agencies or freelance. We plan to stay in the game thanks to the referral and the way we work – fully transparent. So far it proves to work.
