The Galaxy Watch 6 Might Fix The Biggest Flaw In Galaxy Watch 5
Samsung has ditched the rotating bezel of the Galaxy watch 5 series but now it seems like the feature is set to return in the next iteration. The Galaxy Watch 6 Pro is said to support a physical rotating bezel to interact with the device.
The news was given by Korean tipster SuperRoader which says that the next pro smartwatch will bring back a physical rotating bezel to interact with the software, it was further explained that galaxy watch 6 pros will be focused on giving its users a two-day battery life, with that, said, the regular galaxy watch 6 might miss out on this feature, which would make the pro model stand out more than the regular variant.
It could also help support Samsung in making a design stride in the generational upgrade, rather than making it an iterating product.
So, in a world where almost all smartwatches look identical to each other, having an original design element like the physical rotating bezel is a big deal, which is why it made Samsung users so upset when Samsung decided to remove it from their previous model, and with the Galaxy watch 5, Samsung made a watch that was indistinguishable from the watches of other competitors.
If the company is bringing this feature back, then it needs to market it in a better than before so they don’t feel the need to remove this distinguishing feature from the watch any time soon, at least. So the Galaxy watch 6 pro owners actually know that the feature is there unlike previous times, where it was speculated that the users didn’t seem to know that this feature existed which is why Samsung decided to remove the feature as it was becoming a source of confusion for the loyal Samsung users.
The digital trends contributed, Nadeem Sarwar also speculated that the merger of Tizen and wear OS might have made things frustrating for the rotating bezel of watch series 5, this could have made it difficult for Samsung to create specific functionalities, for each app on the Google play store, and instead of opting for per-app optimization, Samsung chose to omit it.
But it looks like Samsung has figured out a way to keep the main feature and the main selling point for some users to stay in the Galaxy watch 6 pros.
The Galaxy watch 5 pros being the long-lasting wear OS smartwatch on the market right now, would make it a bit interesting to see if Samsung manages to the battery life even better than the watch before, and apart from the return of the rotating bezel, not much is known about the upcoming galaxy watch 6 pros.
Although, for some Samsung users, the whole scenario of the bezel returning is all they will need to get hyped for the upcoming product.
However, the pro variant of the upcoming watch will alone be providing this feature, and the regular watch 6 will be keeping the good old digital bezel to interact with the software. There’s some good news for people who thought that galaxy watch 5 pros was too big, the good news is that the watch 6 pros will be available in 2 sizes, unlike the watch 5 pros which only came in a 45.4mm size.
The exact number of the sizes is a bit unclear, but the Galaxy Watch 4 classic also came in two different sizes, and the sizes at that time were, 46mm and 42mm, the former had a 1.4” display which is the same size as the watch 5 pros, and the latter had a 1.2” display. The two versions of the watch 6 pros should be around these numbers.
The new Samsung watch 6 pros will most likely be unveiled in August, along with the next-gen Samsung Foldables. Some impatient people almost always tend to leak the details of these events and of the products that are going to be announced or unveiled, so you can expect to hear more information about the whole scenario the closer you get to the date of the event, which will also help Samsung as it will create a wave of hype for their products before they launch them.
