Google is working on developing the latest features within Google Photos that reduce the resurfacing of certain photos in your Memories.
In recent years, Google Photos has made significant improvements. Now it is working on creating advanced facial recognition technology within Google Photos.
This feature is amazing and we anticipate that it will be well received by users.
Google Photos has the most popular feature, “resurfacing old memories by recognizing the same facial features.”
Sometimes we don’t want to watch particular old memories as they can haunt us. So users want to hide those particular photos. For this, they need to visit Google Photos and delete or block them manually, which could be a time-consuming procedure.
But now with this feature, users don’t need to worry about seeing the resurfacing memories anymore. Your old memories that you don’t want to see more often will not haunt you anymore. As Google is working on this feature, it will keep that particular face hidden that you don’t want to see.
According to the report, Google’s upcoming version 6.80 will have a feature called Show Less option for a certain face with the dedicated button Hide Face From Memories that will help you make your Google Photos more customized.
This feature has some resemblance with the Block Face feature that can entirely remove a particular face from Memories and Group shots.
As in Block Face, you can completely remove that particular face in the Google Photos library, while in Hide Face from Memories, as the name indicates, these photos will not be removed from the photos library but you will not the notification of Their face as a new memory and it will not be included in any automatically generated slideshows or collages about memories.
This feature will soon appear in your Google Photos in your People & Pets area as a new section labeled “Hide face From Memories.”
To activate this feature, you need to visit Settings> Preference > Memories > Hide People & Pets within Google Photos. Here, you will see a list of faces detected in your photos. Find the person whose face you want to hide and toggle the switch or select the option to hide them.
Once you’ve hidden the person’s face, they won’t appear in your Memories, creations, or search results within Google Photos. However, their photos will still be accessible in your main photo library.
Google is working on this feature so it is not publicly available, but soon we will see this feature on our phones. It is anticipated that it will be the most well-received feature from users, as it will let them hide memories that they don’t want to see anymore.
